#100days - '81: ...coming like a Ghost Town.

Growing up in New Zealand, lOcal commercial radio & TV seemed intent on feeding me a constant diet of US
pop & rock. Solid Gold with Dionne Warwick - and the Solid Gold dancers! - was offered, when a lot of people like me wanted Top of the Pops instead. Having two older brothers, I was brought up on punk & new wave & ska - not exactly REO Speedwagon!

Anyway, I've always loved Ghost Town by The Specials, which was a British number one in 1981. It only got to #20 in NZ, but it's still a brilliant song...
