Marwick surfer

I headed to Birsay and the hide at The Loons, which I was at last week helping refurbish. I watched a water rail, a bird which is pretty hard to see, and also got snipe, a hen harrier, a kestrel etc. Then I walked to Marwick and was fairly surprised to see seven surfers in the water. Even at the height of summer you don't see much surfing here, but today they must have been freezing out there. When I took this, the group had left the water ro recce other spots but for one last surfer.
