Witches' brooms

I think this is a fairly common term for these tree deformities caused by stress or disease. This birch tree we passed on the health walk this morning is particularly badly affected.
Then it was off to cafe where we were very busy, bacon rolls were in particular demand, I think I did 14 (7 with egg as well), 1 lorne sausage roll, another with egg, 1 egg roll and 6 toasties, as well as lots of soup, bread & butter - all about 80 minutes!.
Fortunately there was help with the washing up.
Once home I cut back the rasp canes and fruit bushes and then started turning the heel on my latest sock. Think I'll go to club training night tonight as haven't had a chance for ages.
