Bogged Down
Its been an odd week. Quite challenging at work - a sense of frustration with processes and the culture, feelings of sadness for the loss of valued colleagues and friends, and a wondering of whether the future will bring the change that so many desire. Much of this is not new but I feel it more for the start of the new year and the hope and refreshed vision that come with that.
The morning at work was busy but this afternoon I escaped to the dentist! It was Andy and my first visit to a new dentist - now we are in our new house we needed to find one nearer to us. We were lucky enough to find a local practice accepting NHS patients and our dentist was a lovely Polish lady who seemed very thorough. The building was old and quirky, with dark wooden furniture interspersed with bright modern prints of local scenes and carefully tended house plants. The reception was especially 'interesting' with the hole in the wall through which you spoke to the receptionist being at shoulder level at its highest point. This meant you either had to stoop down to peer through to speak to the receptionist or sit on one of the stools provided to be at the correct level! Well, I reckon quirkiness of experience is good, and the quality of service, which counts the most when it comes to dental care was excellent. We also reckon between us we saved at least £60 when we compared the price of our check ups with our usual private dentist.
That is probably enough for a Friday evening - I will leave you in peace to ponder more interesting and enjoyable things! Best wishes and thanks to you all for being there.
