Top Cat

Ever since we bought them several months ago Bramble has slept in the bed on the worktop and Hazel the one on the floor - until recently, when he has suddenly taken a liking to the top one.
There may be a simple explanation: during the severe frost which had frozen all the usual outside sources of water to drink, he has renewed his  habit of drinking from the kitchen tap, involving jumping up to the sink and he may have realised that he can, with equal ease, jump to the upper bed. He sleeps out there whether there is access to the house or not.
We have yet to see Bramble in the lower bed, but, while we are about, she has many other alternatives within the house.
