Where is the water?

We drove across the bridge at the upper end of the lake today on our way to lunch and I noticed how low the water line was..this white boat is normally sitting right on the edge of the water in this cove.   Now it is high and dry.

The lake is used for hydroelectric power and in the winter months is lowered about 6 feet because of the heavy rains we get and because they do not need to produce an abundance of power from this plant.  The power sources are other plants around the area.     I think the fishing people like the water to be lower but I am not sure about the homeowners along the lake..their docks and boats are sitting on dry ground!
