Light / Magical Mystical (EP10)
This week’s challenge: Use any source of light (flashlights, candles, mirrors, bright surfaces) to create an image that transports us into the world of fairy tales. It can be magical, mystical, eerie, enchanted, ghostly, otherworldly or whatever your imagination comes up with.
The purpose of this challenge is to experiment freely with different sources of light to achieve specific effects. Let me give you an example:
For today’s blip, I asked our daughter Isabella to stand in front of some bushes in our garden. I then gave her a flashlight and asked her to lower her head and point the flashlight directly into her face. I wanted her skin to reflect it so strongly as to create the impression that she was glowing from within. To intensify (and, at the same time, contain) that effect, I asked her to let her hair fall over her face. The leaves behind her reflect the faint light of a distant streetlight.
Everything is allowed here: long exposure, double exposure, intentional camera movement, whatever you need to transform your dreams (or nightmares) into photography, but your main little helper should be any kind of light (here is another example for the use of light).
This week's challenge: LIGHT
