Bare and Bleak
We went into Cambridge this morning, the first time that my husband has been since his right knee was replaced seven weeks ago. I did not take any pictures, but managed to purchase everything I went in for as well as two pairs of jeans in a smaller size than usual.
Once home I walked around the garden, which is grey and drab. There are some Snowdrops out, but so far I have not been able to find any Winter Aconites, so they are late this year. In the end I settled for this view, taken from our largest border and looking South-South-West down the orchard to the pond at the bottom, with the bare branches of the trees emphasising just how bleak it is.
