Distraction
This is called the distraction technique. It involves letting your baby investigate the contents of a mystery bag of stuff that has been there for almost a year, hoping there's nothing sharp in it, while you frantically stuff postcards and envelopes into cellophane wrappers.
Ben woke up and was sick this morning so no school for him today. I think it's a combination of not eating enough over the weekend, and his tummy not liking all the mucus (from his cold) he's swallowing overnight. Steve went off to London for a client meeting (which went very well) and I struggled with a sore head and sore body. Very slow today.
Made it out of the house mid afternoon though. Present hunting. And got far more than intended - last day of a sale in one of the toy shops and, after a phonecall to my mum, got a £140 toy for £35 each as it was 50% off in the sale. That's Ben's big present for his birthday and Christmas - and it is big! Teaes aplenty at home though as he still has eight days left til his birthday. We compromised and Steve went to get part of it out for him to discover it needs BUILDING (it's wooden) before it can be played with.
So Ben's challenge is to tidy all his toys up ready for his birthday party and his birthday...
Steve cooked again tonight. I am very blessed by him being able and willing to cook. I don't know what's wrong with me. My cooking mojo has deserted me. And as for this headache - well I guess there's no especially convenient time for a migraine, is there.
