Uses for spare shoe laces

This standard tomato plant has about 8 trusses of tomatoes tied up like this. All those white shoe laces I've been keeping in my string container have found a use.

The sun came out this afternoon and temperatures are heading back towards normal January service. But when I look back over 9 previous years of blips I don't know what normal weather is anymore.

My tomatoes haven't turned grumpy about the weather and a return to hot sunny weather should bring these to happy red ripeness :-)

I thought a lot about my friend Jen today. Her funeral is on Monday. I'm glad that the dreadful Parkinson's is over but I will miss her terribly.
