What is Diabetes Mellitus?

Today, I joined a class to study diabetes. This was a class for 3 hous, the former half was to study diabetes in Japanese and the latter half was to study interpreter of this topic between English and Japanese.

Originally, I was not good at physiology of human body, as it was very complicated and hard to memorize. I joined this class to advance my level as an interpreter. But I should join this class, because that my mother is a diabetes patient. I am the potential patient of diabetes in future.

But because of this class, I got very useful information. The most important point in diabetes diet is not the quantity of calorie, but the order of eating, in other words, we should take care of the order of eating because that the sudden rising of glucose in blood cause the damage of blood vessel. To prevent it, we should eat fruit, vegetable, nut, bean at first, then sweet potato and chinese yam, the last potato, rice and bread.

The lecturer is a doctor of department of internal medicine. He said that the cholesterol has not been influenced by the diet very much, only 10 %. This is the contrary of my doctor. I like to eat deep-fried dish and egg, but my doctor scares me and said to not to eat them too much. I became confused because of the difference of their opinion.
