.... went down to the dam late to see what's doing, and aside a couple of young Dotterel's feeding way over the other side, and a pair of ducks taking off which I decided to do a bit of faffing, there was not a lot happening.

This magpie-lark, was so busy feeding along the fence it did not pick me up until became quite close. looked up in surprise and took off.

As I left the new Nancy Bird Rural Fire Service plane was circling to land. A short time later heard it take of again and obviously heading North up to Newcastle where a major bushfire was well alight near the airport there.
