Steady in the ranks....
A blip totally inspired by last night's Downton Abbey - it was so sad.. poor old Lady Cybil :'(
I never watched it when it was on TV first time round (nor second time in fact), but caught up with it on DVD - much better as you don't have to sit through advert breaks!! When I was in Afghanistan we used to get through box sets of programmes like they were going out of fashion - as when you are not working, there was nothing else to do. Titles we got through were: CSI (all varieties!), Prison Break, 24, Lost, Deadwood(which if you have never seen, you will never look at Ian McShane as the loveable rogue that he once was in Lovejoy!!!). Most of box sets were purchased from 'Grasshopper' when he set up his stall at the little bazaar on a sunday in Lashkar Gah. needless to say many of them didn't work when inserted into a DVD player, despite their claims to be genuine!!! It was the same in Bosnia in the 1990s. Outside every UN/IFOR/SFOR camp was a little shack set up by some entrepreneurial individual selling us bootleg CDs!!
