" The Shanghai Industrial Wharf "
So named by some residents of the nearby blocks of luxury flats, who complain about the smoke from the permanently moored narrowboats although the boats were there before the flats were built. The boats are moored for at least a mile towards the city of Cambridge with a few spaces left for anglers and visitors. Holiday boats can moor for a short time freely but the residential boats must be in good condition and pay the council rent, so I hardly think the council will get rid of them. This area is only a short walk from home and a favourite place to stroll. Still very dismal without a glimmer of sunshine.
