A Man and his Mountain
Since having this villa in Spain and looking out from the balcony towards the mountain you can see on the right (it looks small but is actually quite big) - we have always regarded it as 'our' mountain! We have seen many spectacular sunsets setting behind it. We met a couple last summer in Brighton who have a villa close by over here and mentioned 'their' mountain - we had to respectfully point out that it wasn't theirs, it was 'our' mountain!! They disagreed.
This afternoon John suggested a 'little walk'. Now, knowing him as I do, I am justifiably suspicious of this phrase. I am prepared to walk as far as is necessary in difficult conditions for an end result - ruin, castle, sunset....that sort of thing - but just for the sake of walking... no! I went along with it as I needed a blip. We walked up to the top of the hill which looked over towards 'our' mountain and the view was interesting but I'm not sure I'd bother again. It was good to get back, light the fire (yes, it is cool in Spain in the winter) and pour a beer - we have no wine until we go shopping!
But I have a blip. Important point achieved.
