A perfect Sunday....
Some of the critters I saw today... One squirrel, two dogs and three birds. I never seen a raven eat berries off a bush before...
In the first extra is the Farmers Market. The entrance, my mom where we stopped for a hot cup of coffee before the market opened, a bell*, flag of countries the town is known for, fresh produce this time of year in my home state of Washington, and a small view of the market itself..
* That bell has a lot of history to it. Made in 1892, it served the town to announce fires, quitting time at the local mills and at 21:00 when the children's curfew was... On April 11, 1976 the King of Sweden and the Seattle Mayor rang the bell in the creation of the Ballard Historical District..Today the bell rings on the hour Monday thru Saturday 09:00 - 21:00 on the hour and on Sunday to open and close the Farmers Market..
The second extra is odds and ends that I saw.. There were a few flowers in the garden, part of an octopus artwork, the Locks (allows boats to go from Lake Washington and Lake Union out to Puget Sound and regulates the water level of the lakes, a mushroom made of seashells, a leaf on a tree, and a mural down by the fish ladder...
A perfect, much needed, Sunday.....
