The Tontine

For more than 200 years The Tontine has been a central feature in the town of Peebles - at one time serving the function of Assembly Rooms where the locals could enjoy a Ball in the Adam Room.

Today it is a popular hotel, and that includes a comfortable coffee venue for the people of Peebles - albeit of a certain age!

Today is a Tontine day for me.   Coffee this morning with the minister of the Old Parish Church.   And tonight drinks with the Peebles section of the Tweedale Male Voice Choir - since Monday evening rehearsals are not yet restarting.   (The Director is unwell!)
