South Pacific

In actual fact, today did not exist for me, as we officially crossed the International Date Line last night. Went to bed on the 14th and woke up on the 16th.

Anyway, today was a first for me as I am in Tabuaeran, also know as Fanning Island, deep in the South Pacific. Places like this really make you think about whats important in life, and really help put things in perspective. No running water, no sewage system, no shoes, no doors on their shacks, yet every little kid I seen today greeted me with a huge smile and a hello. No one pestered me like in the Caribbean, nobody bothered me to buy something, just let me walk around and take in the sights and sounds and smells. Innocent and happy. What an amazing combination. I feel so far away from that right now, but today was an experience that hopefully helps me get there again.
