Redesign

Haven't bought a paper copy of the Guardian in a while but I picked up one today to see the redesign.

Its a compact or tabloid format. I like the idea of real papers still (although I read news online a lot too) so I hope this helps its profitability.

I imagine there are lots of clever design things are going on in the new version. It seemed clean, readable, fresh and nicely visual to me.

Less sure about the masthead change initially but the more I look the more I think it might be right for these serious times for journalism. Its more grown up than the cheery 'naughties' one it replaced.

Perhaps this is a moment for the clarity of black. And Capitals.
