A sweet display ...

literally!  

Today a few of us gathered to celebrate friend Dette's birthday (belated birthday).  Didn't want to miss an opportunity to celebrate with her.

So we went to somewhere we don't normally frequent, The Auberge Hotel in DB. 

The have a 'nice' restaurant with good views, so we lunched there.  And boy did we lunch!  A fine buffet that sated my smoked salmon appetite nicely .. and then some more! Shameless I was ;-).

We had a lovely time together and later, sat out on the patio soaking in the sun.  A very special time indeed.  

The picture is of the dessert display once all the desserts had been cleared away, thought it would be a bit excessive if I posted a pic of what we really had for dessert.  Goodness, we've been little piggies today.   But Dette has been celebrated, and that's all that matters :).
