let it snow

We had been warned .. an amber warning. It was coming and we need to be prepared. And come it did and it is still causing chaos to the roads system and has resulted in some homes being without power. So snow has come! Priority roads (those with over 1,500 cars a day passing) were salted but still complaints are many about impassible routes. Yet amid the chaos was the old black N.Iireland humour. One smart alec phoned in to the radio complaining about being too Belfast-centric in road treatment and added "In Belfast you don't have your roads salted - you have them seasoned!". The snow brought out the best in peple, with many good deeds being highlighted by the media - shopkeepers delivering food to older people, neighbours helping neighbours and Local community clearing-up programmes being set up. Despite the warning, many people didn't listen and found themselves snowed in, or started to drive peering through a small peep hole is an iced up windscreen.
So, in such times is good neighbourliness often exemplified. For me, it inspires an endless hope in humanity and not a hopeless end!
(BTW I tried to make the snap look a bit Narnia-esque)
