Christmas has arrived.

Or at least our Christmas present.

When it comes to tv we are a couple of snobs. Our viewing is almost entirely documentaries and classical concerts. Although we did enjoy Little Women over Christmas and we regularly watch Beyond 100 Days.

A couple of years ago we bought a tv soundbar to improve the very poor sound you get on modern thin tvs. It has a number of advantages in that in documentaries it suppresses the unecessary background music and enhances the speech. And for music it gives better bass sounds with bigger speakers.

It has become so important to us that we decided to treat ourselves to a better quality one for Christmas.
In the weeks before Christmas trying to listen to them in John Lewis or Richer Sounds was impossible. Which is why our treat has just arrived today.

For anyone interested the Sound bar has two parts. The long black bar showing Music sits in front of the tv and has a number of mid range speakers. It shows which of the four sound options you have chosen.
The second part is the woofer (bass) speaker on the bottom shelf.

It has the added advantage that with Bluetooth you can use it for playing anything an iPad or iphone. The sound is better than my old mini hi fi system.

So Christmas has come and we are a couple of happy old folk.
