WHY Can't I go Closer?

Cold and bracing walk with the pups today, but lovely too. 
I've run out of firelighters and kindling so didn't have much confidence about getting the fire going. Used newspaper and a few pine cones left over from Christmas.  But manage it I did. As soon as I open the fire door, Madam gets herself installed. I had to keep pulling her back so that I could lay it and light it. Then she got so close. I swear i could smell her fur singing. Funny dog!  Patterdales do like to be warm!
