London Migrants
I had an early morning phone call from the hospital telling me that as my mother has been making good progress and there is still no bed in the rehab hospital at St Pancras, they want to send her straight home. I am still reeling from shock as I was expecting her to be there for at least another couple of weeks.
Went for a walk in Hyde Park with A before she headed off to Heathrow for the big flight back to Australia. Both of us feeling nostalgic about growing up in London but now facing the reality of living elsewhere while our elderly parents are still here.
The ring-necked parakeets are a more recent arrival to central London.
