Blue Dawn

Beautiful light and beautiful snow very early this morning. It all felt very peaceful.

It was an appropriate prelude to this afternoon, when we attended the funeral of my sister-in-law’s father, who died after a long illness. Painful and sad for all those who loved him so much, but also a sense of gratitude that he is now at peace. As ever, it is the personal moments that make such occasions all the more poignant and this time it was playing his favourite song by the Kinks: Waterloo Sunset.
