That knowing look
I went into work today the first day back after losing Roo, when Roo worked with me we were based on the stroke unit but I left there in June and moved to a short stay Ward.
A lot of the staff knew I had dogs a few knew Roo but the majority had only heard me talk of him.
Today though everyone knew him, staff cried with me and I had a lot of nice tributes.
I’ve received a message from Jodie Prenger star of the west end telling me what a legend Roo was( she had wanted Roo for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of The Wizard of Oz). Also blip central sent there condolences to me.
I’ve decided in the future that I’ll be doing something for Roos charity Therapy Dogs Nationwide In Roo’s memory and I will plant a tree in his honour.
Whatever I do it will include Harry and it will be something that is connected with Roo.
Harry has followed me round since Roo went and at times it’s hard for me to have a dog looking so lovingly at me. I was lighting the fire when I turned around and he was looking.
But Roo would never want me to be sad he’s in my heart and he will be there forever.
