Heidi the Brave

Poor Heidi-Cat had a trip to the vet this afternoon...eventually, after her usual carry-on getting into her carrier! Paws splayed, talons out, teeth bared, it's not an easy task. Even the lure of some treats in the back of the carrier was not working.  Unfortunately she's not daft and she seems to know that carrier=vet and she clearly shows her disapproval. 
We are moving to Rotterdam mid-March and so, since Heidi-Cat will be joining us on our adventure, she needed a micro-chip. Followed next week by a Rabies injection. We've not told her about that yet...we'll let her work off her micro-chip rage first. Anyway, a few hours later she's pulling out all the stops for the sympathy vote, trying to get us to overdose her on treats. It's not happening...ok, well maybe one or two...
On a different note, it's been rather snowy and cold here in Edinburgh the past couple of days. Our heating is not working. Great. So it's off to bed early with a book and Heidi-Cat lying by my side being a good substitute for a hot-water-bottle. She has her uses...
