Heron

It was worth taking a few minutes this morning to take a few photos of the heron sitting by the lake.
Today is one of those days when it's hard to decide which photo to upload...  the one in really golden sunlight, almost silhoutted and framed by branches, or the one where the light really catches the feathers along the back on his outstretched neck - finally decided on this close-up as the colours are lovely.  The ones showing the whole heron don't have the eye and beak colour quite so clearly.
