Young Spotted Shag.

This young adult Spotted Shag will be thanking several people for being found this morning on the beach at Port Levy. He/she had a humungous hook imbedded in its bottom jaw. He was brought into town by Donna- a DoC ranger who brought it to us at the hospital, and then we took it straight to our vet to have hook removed. Bolt cutters were needed to remove the offending item. He has a swollen bloodied mouth that is looking better tonight. It is trying to eat and drink which is a great sign.
