Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2018 Wednesday — on the Pier

I’m not sure why but we seldom go out on the pier. Today the wind was nill and we had just finished lunch at Martin’s (pronounced mar-teens) and the pups were at the house in their crates snoozing as they digested their lunch, so walking to the end of the pier was enticing. There was almost no one on the beach and only one surfer in the water. January Wednesday’s usually arrive with no tourists in this little town.

We weren’t planning to go out to lunch, but we were just about to begin cooking a late breakfast when we received a voicemail from a Los Angeles real estate agent who has a client that wants to buy our SoCal home. That turned into a long phone call of response and some serious excitement, and cautious anticipation. Our home is not currently on the market; we took it off just before Christmas because we knew we were going to be gone a lot in January and some in February. The thought that someone is really interested in buying our home is too good almost to be true. We sure want it to be true through, we do.

Escrow did not close on our little rental house today, but we were told it will close early next week. The buyer’s are getting an FHA loan and that is more complicated than some other types of loans (that’s more of our lesson in real estate).
