Rheinish helm

St Mary's, Sompting;  a Saxon church with the only example of  a Rheinish helm in England - a four sided pyramid style cap.
One of Xmas presents from Mr P was " England's 1000 best churches" by Simon Jenkins. He thought it would give me inspiration for blips.  I checked to see which ones were near Worthing to give me ideas for trips out with Mother.   We followed this with a very civilised lunch in the bistro/cafe in Beach House Park.
