Bob Dylan - Girl from the North Country (recorded December 1962 for Canada Broadcast Company)
The song was conceived three years earlier but had only just been completed at the time of this performance. He first recorded it for the album Freewheelin' on 24 April 1963. It is thought to have been dedicated to Echo Helstrom, his girlfriend in 1957-1958 back in Hibbing MN, who died in California earlier this week aged 75. He recorded the song again with Johnny Cash for the album Nashville Skyline a few years later.
