Florence: Head of our Girl Child Project
18th January 2018:
This is Florence in the office with some uniforms for the girls.
The following is a report on some of what she manages:
WEEKLY REPORT 18th JANUARY 2018
Hi Boss,
Am here to update you how things are going on here, on 13th January last week Saturday we had 181 Students with all Teachers except Miriam was sick.
We formed 3 groups for Activities according to what students like,
SPORTS- Netball,Handball [ Miriam and Margret from the Garden]
ENTERTAINMENTt- Stories,Debating and Drama [ Prominence and Margret from Pre-School]
HAND CRAFT- Sawing Sanitary Pads [Wezzie-FARM ,Angelina, and I]. In this group we have more Students which shows its very important to our girls and indeed they want to get knowledge to assist themselves in future. so for this week we will start with theory then the following week will begin practical.
OUR STUDENTS
Wezzie Nyirenda; We failed to get her to Chimaliro because her Aunt sent her to her home village in Rumphi District for good , lucky enough she was escorted by her sister from another Aunt in Rumphi and directed to the Deputy Head Teacher of Luwinga Secondary School who is a woman with 3 childrenin ages of 8, 5 and 3 years but her Husband is working in Univercity of Mzuzu. She is living in Geisha far from School but she uses her car to School with Wezzie and the teacher said for food and Accomodation she will assist her up to the end of her form four Exams. WEZZIE IS SAFE NOW. You will receive her report from her as i asked her to do.
Lusungu Kanyenda from Zolozolo is fine as we are assisting her Dossage of vitamins per months. The problem now is changing with no blood oozing no cracks on her tongue but when it starts she just feel pain then it stops which means she is geting better and better. She is really thankful for saving her life
Grace Chipofya has been selected to Livingstonia Synod College to do a course of PUBLIC HEALTH starting from 29th of January .You will hesr more from her story i told her to write then we will scan and send it to you.
Pamela Ngwira who was living in a Rented house with her friend in Nkhorongo we were paying her 3,000mk for Rent now she is living with one of her Relatives brother who just came in this year coming from Zambia who is doing a Machanics and having a wife but no children [a new couple] this means she is safe now.
SECOND SELECTION
We have 2 girls who has shifted the School through second sellection and 3 new Students who also sellected in secocnd sellection; 1 from Mchengautua CDSS,1 from Luwinga Sec.School and 1 from Enyezin CDSS. The additional to our List of girls is 3 plus 255 .
PADS
We will need materials to teach and assist the girls in Enyezin-ALL, in Mzgola -ALL and here at Center for Learning in this term as part of our work. I will send the requisition for the micro fibre through Rose
