We stayed in a basic hotel in Birmingham.  Basic? Very basic, man alive.  It was in the middle of the building, no windows.  But it was functional, we were not there to hang about.  An unexpected bonus was discount in the overnight car park, if you deduct the money saved our hotel was £20 for the night!   Great shopping in Birmingham, everything you could want, having said that, I didn't buy anything.  An amazing station too.
