Javelin at the Museum
It's been a while since I visited the museum, and about 2 years since I stopped volunteering there to give more time to the Riders Branch events. Our Nephew-in-Law and his son are interested in aviation and asked me about the museum so we all went along this morning.
It really is a most fascinating place and we did the lot. Toured the displays in the hangar, the Whittle E28/39 (the first allied jet aircraft to fly and built at Brockworth Gloster Aircraft Company in Gloucester), Meteors, Javelin, open cockpits of Gnat and Hunter, childrens aircraft of old biplane types, and exhibits of Airborne glider forces and the origins from H.H.Martyn.
Outside we had a tour of the Vulcan cockpit and the HS Trident cockpit and passenger fuselage (about 5 rows of passenger seats).
Definitely worth a visit.
Extras in the cockpits of Vulcan (XM569) and the Trident (G-AWZU)
It was also nice to be greeted by old friends and told I was very much missed and when would I be returning. How nice, I expect I will return but when I'm not biking so much.
