Strathaven in Winter

Brilliant day of sunshine on snow. Crisp and occasionally slippy underfoot.

Better to walk than drive, residential streets single track, rutted and untreated. Pavements, an accident waiting to happen!

When I moved here, 20 years ago, all roads and pavements were cleared of snow and salted

Now, many elderly are trapped in their houses and dependant on family, friends and taxi- drivers. Scotland going backwards.
