A hare in London Leicester Square!
Breakfast in the hotel, travel to London, walk from Victoria via horse-guards parade, by which time the rain, undecided at first had decided and we were soaked! I went through a big puddle! Up to Trafalgar Square by which time we needed to get into the warm so had lunch in Bella Italia. They are a very popular restaurant to be seen on nearly every street corner! Enjoyed lunch and took our time as we watched the crowd getting wet!
Leicester Square and I took photos of the installation in the daylight- A secret garden with huge flowers and wildlife, including the hare. Blipped at night!
Ro bought a Lumiere program there and was determined to find a Costa coffee shop to get a coconut drink! That took us through Carnaby street where Roland and I decided that we would get married. The conversation went along the lines of: well we can’t gat marrried for another four years because we have to finish uni! The pub is now the Shakespear, not sure what it was called all those years ago!
We stayed in the hot Costa and dried out! The show was to start at half five. So we stood patiently in the middle of the road at Oxford Circus under a huge Orb: the origin of the world! It was fairly impressive when it started dead on time. But I used the vivid setting on the camera! Took a film with my phone. We walked through the West End looking for more light installations. The one in Piccadilly Circus was great: Voyage. Also loved the flamingoes making their way through China town and the balloons in Trafalgar Square.
No time to stay as we had seats for : A Comedy About a Train Robbery at the Criterion in Piccadilly Circus. We really enjoyed it. So funny!
Back to the Hotel in Croydon! And it’s past midnight as I type!
