Spurtle

First thing I heard on awakening was the sound of ice being scraped off windscreens, which made me think that a bowl of porridge would be just the thing for breakfast. Just water and pinhead oatmeal, simmered for about half an hour with occasional stirring by the spurtle. Oh, and a pinch of salt. Mmmm.
