The blessing

Today it’s a special Sunday here in Italy. In towns’ and cities’ squares animals are blessed. The celebration should be done on the 17th of January, St. Anthony Abbot’s day, protector of animals, but nowadays, we usually celebrate it on the nearest Sunday.
Our square was full of farm animals and pets: dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds of all sorts, donkeys, chickens, horses, cows... I chose two horses to remember the day!
I went on a walk in the afternoon too and this cat, who lives in a feline colony in the woods, walked with me for a while!
Also, after last night’s storm the flowers in my garden were covered with tiny drops... amazing!
