More of the white stuff

The snow was 'deep and crisp and even' again this morning, then we had another dramatic blizzard around lunchtime, so it was even deeper when The Mintster and I ventured out and up the hill in the afternoon. There were some deep drifts up there and not surprisingly we didn't meet another soul.

Otherwise it's been a day for staying in and trying to keep cosy. I made a roasted butternut squash and chilli soup which hit the right spot for lunch. Before liquidising the soup I added a lump of Stilton, just to use it up, which gave it an extra kick.

Is there a thaw on the way and if so, where is all that snow going to go? And how many more potholes will be revealed???
