My Little Poisonous Friend

It was wonderful to have some time outside when we got home from our busy day. My little spent her time playing in her favorite tree while I fed our bunnies. While moving around some wooden boards, I found this darling little orange bellied, rough skinned newt. My girl and I enjoyed letting him swim around in a wheel barrow full of rain water.

Yes this little guys are poisonous. You can read more about him HERE. I usually let my girl handle them, but be sure to wash hands really well afterwards. I used to play with them all the time as a kid before I knew anything about them. I never washed my hands. Glad I never got sick.
