Old Nikkor

I'm going to see the European Figure Skating Championships 2009 tomorrow. We will not have the best seats possible, so if I want to even try to make photo of Kiira Korpi I'd need a longer lens that my Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8. I decided to borrow my mom's old 300mm Nikkor. It is not that long tele either but it is fun to try out these old manual focus lenses. They look and feel very nice.

I was also thinking of buying something like Nikon 80-400mm VR. Try it out for weekend and then returning it. I don't know would it really work, so I decided to play it safe.
