Yard Bird #11 - White-throated Sparrow
This chubby sparrow is an everyday bird in our yard from fall until spring. They can mostly be found foraging on the ground but will occasionally hop up on a tree branch for a better view. Today, this one perched itself in close proximity to a fluffed up male House Finch, which I think makes an interesting photo. Too bad the focal plane didn't allow both birds to be in sharp focus. c'est la vie...
Had to do a bit of running around today but back home now. Just booked flights for a dream-trip to Costa Rica later this year; and also trip insurance. The trip is 11 days, starting 1 November, and 100% focused on photographing wildlife (birds, bats, amphibians/reptiles). Several other blippers are already booked and I believe there are two more spots available so if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the trip organizer. Cost is US $3,685 for a shared room and $4,085 for single and includes hotels, guides, meals and in-country transport. Airfare to/from San Jose, CR is extra.
Meanwhile, I have a trip to FL coming up in just a few weeks and Hubs is thinking about coming along - what fun! Need to check air fares for him.
Happy Monday to one and all...
