Bright bee on echinacea

What time do bees get up?
I was out there two hours after the sun had risen. The birds were up, I was up but no bees around. Finally a bumble came along and made my day about 9.45am just as I had to tear off to the museum.

Our first day back after renovations etc. All looking very fresh. So hot and we only had a small fan moving the air around. We were almost glad we had no researchers come through. We had plenty to deal with after 6 months away trying to remember where stuff was.
