Sacred Ibis Lake

Participated in our bird club outing this morning to Northern Farm, north of Johannesburg. This blip is of one of the many dams on the farm ( an area of +- 2000 ha).

We recorded 83 species, which included 6 raptors. Some of the specials that I enjoyed were:

Black-chested Snake-eagle (Circaetus pectoralis)
Long-crested Eagle (Lophaetus occipitalis)
Ovambo Sparrowhawk (Accipiter ovampensis)
Yellow-billed Kite (Milvus aegyptius)
African Paradise-flycatcher (Terpsiphone vividis)
Cape Grassbird (Sphenoeacus afer)
Red-chested Flufftail (Sarothrura rufa)
