Tufty

A day at home with tea breaks watching the birds. The blue tits, great tits, robin, blackbirds, pigeons and starlings were all present, as were the squirrels. The jay visited later on in the day with the ear tufts all a-fluff. Around the same time, I caught a bird observing in the background. I willed it nearer but it didn't venture down to the feeder. It was slimmer than a blackbird but longer than a starling. It also had a beak similar to a blackbird's, with a mottled chest and some white wing feathers. I haven't  quite figured out what it is. Dad offered a mistle thrush, a redwing or a fieldfare. Not a fieldfare, I think, but one of the other two. See the extra photo and let me know what you think.

A warmer day today. Juno spent the afternoon stalking and fighting a tortoiseshell cat with a bell. Poor cat couldn't hide being all jingly jangly.

It was nice meeting up with the Feasties this evening. We had a whole meeting about volunteer recruitment. We have a few key vacancies to fill before the first Feast on 1 April including one in the hub I volunteer at. Paws crossed we find folk. We always seem to – the more, the merrier.
