Pelican at Twilight

It took me a whole week in Florida to post my favorite bird...the pelican.

My question has always been...How can such an ugly ungainly bird...be so beautiful and so endearing? It's a mystery.

Speaking of pelicans, we spotted one today with a giant fish carcass lodged in its bill. We called the pelican lady, but by the time she got there...the bird had departed. Too bad.
