Halong Bay

The dramatic limestone karsts jutting out of the water in Halong Bay are amazingly stunning. I've wanted to visit here for quite a few years now so am really glad I've finally gotten out here. Today we visited Cat Ba Island the biggest island in the Halong Bay archipelago where we cycled to a local village followed by short trek to a cave to see some bats. Unfortunately the bats were sleeping elsewhere and we didn't see any but still a worthwhile visit anyway. Kayaking and a floating village were also on the itinerary for the day and good thing too as we've been getting served five course meals for lunch and dinner! I'm in desperate need of some physical activity or they'll have to roll me off the boat!
