Bagan ceremony

We set out today to visit some more temples but on the way we came across a colourful procession of young boys who were about to become novice monks. The procession was led by girls carrying parasols and temple offerings,followed by the boys in decorated carts and chariots pulled by horses or bullocks.The boys were highly made up and often looked more like girls. Behind them all came a band on a truck followed by a generator to provide the sound system. It was a fantastic spectacle, so glad we witnessed it.
