Pass the parcel

For various reasons, today was about the first opportunity in several weeks that some friends and I had to exchange our Christmas gifts. Distance wasn't the issue - they live only about eleven miles away - but circumstances at both ends got in the way of us finding a date and time to meet up.

The message on the bag - "Delivered for 25th December" - was an unfortunate and ultimately untrue coincidence! The presents have been sitting in that bag in my house since before that date, however, so the intentions were good.

It was good to meet up and have a good blether.

Attended the church Men's Group-organised Burns' Supper in the evening and it was an excellent evening's entertainment. The piper, singers, speakers and food were all first class. Even won a selection of Italian biscuits in the raffle!
